Life's journey.

On Friday, December 7, 2007, It was a rainy day as I was in Baja on a motorcycle ride for my friend Cliffs birthday ride to Mikes Sky Ranch. Approximately 30 miles from Vale Trinidad, in the mud, I crashed at about 15 mph and did a face plant in the mud. It would be like sticking your foot in the mud and trying to pull your foot out without your boot coming off. Only this was my full face helmet buried in the mud. I burst my C1 into 4 bone fragments.A50Halo

Lucky to be alive!

Got back to the states and a Halo was placed on Monday, December 10, 2007.

On Friday, March 7, 2008, my wife and I were rear ended, in our pick up, while waiting at a stop light. We were hit hard enough to knock the Halo off my head. An ambulance trip to the emergency room and hospital lead to a new Halo being placed.

The medical personnel had never heard of this happening before.

Just another "first" for Ray!

This latest incident has caused me to cancel my plans to attend the NCM C5/C6 Birthday Bash in April. This would have been the 5th anniversary of the Start of the All 50 trip. Unfortunately, I am on an unknown time table waiting for bone fusion of my C1.

So, my car sits in the garage.......................ready to run......................

There will be a day ahead when I will be back at the wheel. In the mean time, I can appreciate the family, friends and things I have accomplished over the years and feel fortunate for what I do have!

I have always had the philosophy, "its not the destination but the journey" The journey is unknown. The destination is the drivers seat!

God Speed

Ray
