Old Mission in Santa Barbara and then up 101 to Highway 1 on the coast. In San Simeon, pulled off to view Hearst Castle. The castle looks magnificent up on the mountain.

Onward to Cambria for a pit stop. There are several Corvettes here from the Sierra Corvette Club from Visalia, CA. We exchange greetings and I hand out "The Card"
The now usual smiles and encouragement are prevalent.

Several of the Sierra Club (is that politically correct)? are planning on being in Bowling Green. We agree to try and hook up.

Driving up Highway 1 is a photographers nightmare. There are so many great photo opportunities!

In Morro Bay we pulled off to watch the Para Surfers? Man, were these guys ripping through the surf! It looked like fun!

There are many over looks along the way, but to me, some of the most impressive views where the bridges spanning the canyons. In particular was the Bixby Bridge, built in 1932 with its arch spanning the gorge.

The sun is setting as we head into Monterey and we decide to try for Pebble Beach in Carmel. We arrive, just as the sun has gone below the horizon. The guard wants to know the purpose of the visit. "The Card" is once again presented for access. Photos are taken around the club house and as we are leaving, the view across the green to the ocean is spectacular!

Onward along 17 mile Drive to Carmel for dinner at the Hog's Breath Inn. Karen has a flight out in the morning, so we drive to Seaside for the night.
